Important ideas (2) - authentic PD

This study was conducted in Jack’s classroom. Many argues that doing the professional development in the authentic class would be useful since enable to consider the existing instructional practices. This study verifies this notion. The strength of this model is that the teacher could aplly directly for students’ learning (student-oriented), allowing teacher to see the positive impacts on students. However, at the same time this authentic PD could result in challenges for teachers when the new ideas demand higher skills of teachers such as classroom management. This could also raise another important issue if the idea challenge the existing beliefs and knowledge of teachers and teachers need time to reconsider in their limited time.

This idea is about the advantages and disadvantages of conducting the research in authentic classroom. I knew that one recommendation of previous studies is to conduct the PD in the authentic classroom for several reasons: the researcher could benefit from this, it could directly to see the impacts on students' learning in the classroom, and it could consider the existing teaching practices.

What this study tells us about this issue. The study in Jack suggests two sides of this problem.
